Shellfish
Tasty & Beneficial
In its nutritional content shellfish is very similar to white fish, although certain varieties of shellfish, like crab and mussels can be very good sources of Omega 3 as well.
More importantly, shellfish are a good source of iodine, copper, zinc and selenium. The high selenium content of shellfish is the reason behind the belief that they are a “good mood food”.
A recent UK study by Benton and Cook showed a direct co-relation between increased daily selenium intake and improved mood together with decreased anxiety and depression.
